Under the SoULS Initiative, one-day workshops have been organized for the school-going students, where they learn about clean energy (solar) technologies, get to test the technical components and assemble their own solar study lamps. By making their own solar lamp, the students’ scientific curiosity & hands-on learning of technology is piqued, particularly in solar. This can lay the foundation to stimulate young minds towards clean technologies for the future, by making them Student Solar Ambassadors. It will help the students get a first-hand experience of the solar technology. Such one-day workshops have been earlier organized solar study lamp assembly workshops at two Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya schools in November 2017. As a part of this workshop, 875 students were trained by expert trainers from IITB in technical testing and assembly of solar lamps in a single day workshop.
